How Well Do You Know Your Cat?

morefocus recently asked people questions to see how well they know their cats. Over 4000 people sounded off, reporting on their cats' behaviors, personalities, and preferences. Seventy-six percent of respondents have extremely social cats that would tell their owners to feed, pet and play with them!
 
 
 
Oddly, most people's cats tend to act in either one of two opposite ways when their owners have company: 34 percent said their cats greet everyone while 33 percent said their cats find a place to hide. Although most people reported having social cats, cats' initial reactions to new people seem to vary distinctly. Supporting this fact, 38 percent of people said their cats love anyone's company and 28 percent indicated that their cats prefer their owner's company.
 
 
Most people keep a close eye on their cats. Eighty-nine percent said that at most they let their cat outside sometimes. Similarly, 74 percent take their cats in for regular shots and check-ups. However, although their cats' well being is important to most people, 90 percent don't have health insurance for their cats. One possibility is that people may not know that they can buy insurance for their cats or that the cost of insurance may be too high.
 
Although most people's cats are social cats, they might take a little while to warm up to strangers. Regardless, this survey found that the majority of owners watch over their cats diligently by keeping them indoors and taking them in for regular vet visits.
